Fundraiser Update - the results

Well...It did not turn out the way we had hoped for but the walk-a-thon did raise a good bit of money towards our adoption. Thank you to everyoe who helped and to everyone who came out to fellowship with us. It was the first really hot day of the year and even though we all thought about walking nobody wanted to go in the heat. We had a great time with our family & friends as we ate lots of hot dogs and enjoyed laughing with each other. God is so good to have given us such good friends who support us in the good times and the not so good times. It was truly a blessing to have each of you out there with us.

Today is the Day

The fundraiser is upon us. Thank you everyone who has helped us to get organized. Now it is out of our hands and in the hands of Him who controls all things. We hope to have seen you today. Thanks in advance for coming out and supporting our adoption.

Fundraiser Update

The walk-a-thon is only a week away and preparations are in their final stage. We have a great amount of support from the community in supporting our raffle prizes and we also have some prizes for a variety of events. So far we have raffle prizes from;
Family Christian Bookstore
Carolinas Cinemas
Crackel Barrel
Harris Teeter
Hawthorne's Pizza
Jimmy's Restaurant
Lowes Foods
Showmars
Wil's Lawn Service
Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club

We also have event prizes for highest donation total, most laps walked and for the scavenger hunt to be held in the park that morning. They will include;
Garmin nagivation system
Ipod
Season Tickets to the Charlotte Eagles games for 2009.

So please come and bring your family, bring your friends and enjoy the morning at Freedom Park next weekend, the 25th, 9am - 1pm. Remember lunch will be available too. We will be at shelter #2, right next to the playground for the little ones.

We are excited to see what happens when you open the door for God to walk through. We have a big need and we already know He is a big God so we are praying for big things.

Thanks, The Frey's

Update on our progress

We have completed our home study and we passed, Woo Hoo!!!! Now we are just waiting on some final documentation so we can get things notarized and sent off to the state for authentication. We are also waiting on the overall costs to be determined. We certainly are not worried about how God can meet that need but we do want a number in mind for our fundraiser. There is no way to know if a prayer is answered if it's not specific enough to begin with. We are excited and still focused on doing what we have been asked to do, be open to adopting whomever comes from His hand.

Why Russia? continued

The Russian government has more than 1 million orphans in their care due to the economic and social conditions inside their country. In Pskov, Russia alone, over 150 children are turned over to the state each month. It is sometimes the only choice a mother has if she cannot feed or cloth them appropriately. Unfortunately half of these children will not reach age 21. Our Sovereign God has invited us to adopt 1, 2 or even 3 related orphans from this region. We will be traveling to Pskov, Russia this summer or fall to bring these children out of the institution and into a family that God will use to show His love to them. Please join us in prayer to meet the needs of these children and the required funding to bring these children home.
